Under the supervisor of the Operations Advisor – Victim Assistance, the Operations Analyst (Victim Assistance) duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- Review and suggest to the Operations Advisor – Victim Assistance definitions and scope of activities to develop the Victim Assistance pillar in Syria
- Coordinate with international and national organizations involved in the provision of relevant services related to Victim Assistance, and facilitate information sharing to create a platform
- Follow up on Victim Assistance Situation Analysis and recommendations report
- Support in the implementation of relevant actions to develop Victim Assistance approaches
- Assist in identifying and exploring new opportunities and methods to implement and/or provide support services to victims
- Liaise and coordinate with relevant national authorities including Ministry of Health, Ministry of Social Affairs and Ministry of Education
- Support in initiating necessary actions and in the negotiation process with relevant authorities, to develop a Victim Assistance National Plan; in line with other existing national programmes (health, disability, etc.)
- Create and animate a Victim Assistance Working Group, and help ensure regular meeting with relevant participants; including related authorities and organizations involved in the provision of relevant services related to Victim Assistance
- Support in conducting awareness sessions to promote the development of Victim Assistance; and the inclusion of survivors and people with disabilities in the humanitarian response, reconstruction/recovery programmes and national policies
- In close collaboration with Information Management Team, help deliver training to relevant stakeholders in order to develop qualitative Victim Data Collection (VDC) in new accessible areas
- In close collaboration with the Information Management Team, support in implementing a mechanism to help monitor the services provided to victims by Mine Action actors
- In close collaboration with the Information Management Team, prepare regular reports on achievements and maintain clear documents on action taken on Victim Assistance issues
- Develop and maintain a tracking system to assist supervisor in following up on action points to ensure work plans are met
- Assist in updating and disseminating a Victim Assistance services directory by governorate
- Assist in facilitating and monitoring referral pathway to ensure access of services for victims
- Assist in the creation of a Victim Assistance working group in Damascus
- Perform any other tasks and duties as requested by the Operations Advisor - Victim Assistance
Post may include regular travel to different accessible areas of Syria.
