UNOPS is recruiting for UNMAS programme in Iraq.

Duty station: Erbil, Iraq - Operations Officer (Associate Risk Education Officer)

This position is open to nationals or persons with a valid residence and/or work permit.

Under the direct supervision of the Risk Education (RE) Team Lead, the incumbent will be assigned to undertake the following responsibilities:

Project Management:

· Participate in the elaboration of concept notes and budgets for new RE activities;

· Support the organization and implementation of RE activities, including but not limited to trainings, creation of new RE designs, RE campaigns and more, as assigned by the RE Team Lead;

· Draft activity reports;

· Report to the RE Team Lead any gaps, lessons learnt and areas of improvement within the Project Cycle Management, and propose solutions to identified challenges and issues.

Grants and contracts management:

· Schedule, plan, participate and undertake in quality assurance and control visits for RE grantees and contractors;

· Quality check statistical and narrative reports;

· Support monitoring and evaluation of grantee and contractor performance and compliance, providing guidance as required;

Information management and reporting:

· Maintain organization of the RE shared drive, relevant IM tools, and record and archive keeping;

· Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to ensure compliance with internal and external indicators;

· Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to ensure relevance of RE activities and operations;

· Provide draft reports and data for internal and external use.

Liaison and representation:

· Liaise with the National Mine Action Authorities and humanitarian actors on mine action related activities;

· Participate in donor visits, events, meetings and conferences as required.

Administration and logistic:

· Participate in relevant meetings, translating between English and Arabic/Kurdish when required;

· Translate RE materials and documents from English to Arabic/Kurdish;

· Draft formal letters and minutes;

Any other relevant tasks requested by the RE Team Lead and/or RE Consultant.

Education and Relevant Years of Experience:

· Advanced University Degree (Masters Degree or equivalent) is required; OR

· First level University degree (Bachelors Degree or equivalent) with 2 years of relevant experience is required; OR

· High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience is required.

Work Experience

· Relevant experience is defined as experience in Humanitarian related activities, Project Management Risk Education, Media or related fields.

· Minimum one year of relevant experience is required.

Language:

· Fluency in English (speaking, reading and writing) is required;

· Fluency in Arabic (speaking, reading and writing) is required;

· Knowledge of Kurdish (speaking, reading and writing) is desired.

Contract type, level, and duration

Contract type: Local Individual Contractor Agreement (LICA)

Contract level: LICA-8 (ICS-8)
Contract duration: Open-ended, subject to organizational requirements, availability of funds, and satisfactory performance
