The role
The Communications Officer will primarily be responsible for building and maintaining TWB’s content production, distribution and reach, which enables TWB to advocate around the importance of language in non-profit and humanitarian communications and to provide guidance, technical support and language services for NGOs. In addition, this person will support the Senior Communications Officer in maintaining and developing website content and other communications channels.
Responsibilities
Support project management across teams for internal and external communications, defining and meeting strategic goals, expectations, and timing
Deliver on TWB inbound marketing and content strategies.
Upload content onto TWB’s web properties, aligning with TWB web imagery standards, incorporating TWB website taxonomy and tagging, using SEO keywords and best practices, and more.
Support adding translated web content to TWB website as needed, and coordinating with internal TWB teams
Monitor and report on the performance of TWB’s content.
Support integration of HubSpot tools and processes.
Collaborate with the fundraising team around campaigns.
Support Senior Communications Officer with media relations, as needed.
Help with content production and design.
Help ensure good user experiences, journeys, and engagement with TWB’s target audiences.
Work with the fundraising team to support communications with new and existing sponsors, partners and donors.
Contribute to a positive, innovative and supportive work environment.
Performs other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and requirements
TWB is seeking an energetic and proactive team player to contribute to TWB’s work in fundraising and business development. The Communications Officer should be enthusiastic about the importance of increasing access to knowledge through language. The right candidate enjoys working independently and implementing new ideas. This person should agree with TWB´s basic beliefs and values and can work virtually with team members based throughout the world.
Graduate, preferably with a degree in international development, communications, marketing or other relevant field.
Demonstrated interest in language and commitment to the TWB values.
At least one year’s experience in communications, with a proven track record in developing content, websites, digital channels, and marketing and a clear aptitude and enthusiasm to learn more.
Excellent writing and research abilities; writing sample required.
Strong organizational skills, with a passion for process.
Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and database management, ideally with experience of CMS platforms and HubSpot.
Good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
Unimpeachable ethical standards and personal integrity.
Knowledge of French a plus
Background
TWB is building its communications team as the organization scales to meet the demand for our work. The Communications Officer will support the Senior Communications Officer and will work closely with the fundraising team and program teams. The position will support website content and development, project management, program support, campaigns, and promoting the mission of TWB. The postholder will be responsible for strengthening TWB’s digital marketing channels, helping to raise the organization’s profile, disseminating content to target audiences, deploying inbound marketing strategies, and supporting country teams and program staff. The role will be key to supporting the day-to-day operations of a global nonprofit organization working on language and information access within the humanitarian and international development sectors.
